Northern Heritage

Today watercolour shows a scene from the past. Sadly alot of our architecture as dissappeared with town modernisation. Using reference from an old B+W photo I have tried to recreate the atmoshere of the time. Done on full imperial paper, this was painted rapidly to maintain the looseness but to suggest detail were possible.

I've always loved your style Trevor. The images you paint are almost in a dreamlike vision. I am always happily lost in your images.

Trevor, Sheila is absolutely right - this work does have a wonderful dreamlike quality. There is a suggestion of movement that adds to this effect. I like how the blue ties different parts of the painting together and keeps the eye moving. Very well done indeed.

It looks like a scene from a great epic movie! Your strokes are impressively expressive. The idea of a limited palette works great...you are a master, Trevor!

Hi Trevor,
What an elegant and classy town you painted , the streets busy with happy life. No cars (pollution) . Vitality impregnates everithing, this is an incredible watercolor, full of surprises . The more you look the more you see. I enjoy your work so much! Be well ,
Mariano

Great work as ever. I've always liked that brown/turquoise colouration. I prefer your paintings to Lowrys.

Hi Julie
You are very observant of the palette which I thought might not come through on the pc.
