At the races

Today I have painted an image which appeals to me.
I think the figures walking away from the viewer is an intriguing composition.
I hope you find this of interest.

You are right, it conjures all sorts of questions. Where are they going, where have they come from? It leaves us wanting more, always a good thing I think.

Oh, I agree. Very thought-provoking. The placement of the blues for composition works very well.

I love it! Paintings that let the viewer 'fill in the blanks' about the possible story behind the image are my favorites. Love the subtlety with the loose flow of colors punctuated with details like the point of her heel.

Trevor Lingard said...

Hello Sheila
You are so very observant of the subtleties. I think he is in a hurry to collect his winnings dont you think?

Very nice! I love the casual way the woman's dress (or shawl or wrap or whatever it is) is flowing off her shoulders. Lots of nice movement in her clothing! Lovely colors too.

Yes it certainly adds a bit of mystery just seeing the backs of them. Really like the airy quality Trevor
