Soaking up the sun

Today I have searched for inspiration with difficulty. Eventually I resorted to putting two of my old holiday snaps of my wife together to compose the above painting. It is not a painting that I would attempt in the heat of the day for sure.
This is were my trusty camera comes in use.
Perhaps not for the purist, but I have to get my fix somehow.

Very nice image on a day when it's been chucking it down all day. Reminds me it's still actually August. Thanks Trevor.

This looks so good as a thumbnail. When I saw the large version I thought you'd put something in the sky, or that it was upside down in parts. Lots of sun here.

Amazing work! I agree the sun looks harsh indeed to attempt any plein air :)

Thank you Ramesh.
Indeed it was a hot day.
I much prefer the shade unlike my wife.

Trevor, thanks for your kind remarks. Your work is truly wonderful. If I could have painted watercolors as beautiful as yours, I'd still be a watercolorist. So glad to have discovered your work.

Trévor, you know how to describe atmospheres in your watercolors and invite us. Here, I imagine very well the atmosphere of this beach, the sun, the noise of waves and almost the smell of the solar cream. Magnificent inspiration. I love it.

You rendered very well the atmosphere of this sunny day, of the beach full of light, of the moist seashore... It's a wonderful watercolour, Trevor, congratulation!
